How do you use AI in your job? Maybe the better question is DO you use AI in your job?

When the AI floodgates opened to the public at the beginning of 2023, tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney and Dall-E presented an entirely new way to imagine, test, iterate and, ultimately, create. Some embraced it. Others rejected it. Most everyone fell somewhere in between. C’est la vie.

So, how are brands using AI? A slew of companies are toying with AI for brand design, including Mattel, which is reportedly using DALL-E to design its Hot Wheels toy cars. Then there’s global beverage giant Diageo, which is using AI to aid in package design. Cocoa-Cola is taking it a step further by using AI to design its flavors. It’s happening. It’s a thing.

Social media accounts like AI_ClothingDaily use AI for brand design and post images that look like they’re straight from Paris Fashion Week. A gallery of intricate Nike sneakers blew up on Instagram and TikTok earlier this year. Wild stuff.

In the spirit of using AI branding to spark inspiration, let’s take a look at some fictional collaborations cooked up here at The Thirst using Midjourney. Fair warning, Midjourney can’t do letters.

A special-edition AI branding Fenty line with Apple that celebrates tech’s monotone mood and sleek lines.

DORITOS x DELTA

Timing is everything with avocados. This Rolex celebrates the Avocados From Mexico brand (and product) with a textured avo-skin face and ripe green hue.

XBOX x CHOLULA

This Xbox and Cholula collaboration knows exactly where your hands have been. We think this is a pretty clever use of AI in brand design.

STARBUCKS x DOVE

Enjoy a morning pick-me-up courtesy of an espresso-scented body wash (this might be the most realistic AI branding idea here).

DIOR x TIMBERLAND

Dior’s intricate stitching work is on full display to create a luxe upgrade to the trusty autumnal kicker from Timberland.
